Hi, we're a group of four juniors from El Toro High School, and we're so excited to share our book with you! Now here's a little bit about ourselves:

Meet the Authors:

Hi my name is Katie, and I'm 17 years old! My hope is to study chemistry or zoology at a four-year university. In my free time, I love to crochet, hang out with my cats, and play soccer. I also like to code, and I made this website from scratch!


















Hello! I'm Melissa and I'm 16 years old. I like to play lacrosse and I'm also in band. Ive always enjoyed writing but I want to study Marine Biology after I graduate high school.


Meet the Illustrators:

Hey there! My name's Emily and I'm 16. I want to study art and character design. I love books, fantasy, epic music, and everything in between! I'm also a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

















Hi my name is Sarah! I'm currently 16 and a junior in high school. In my free time I love to read, draw, sing, and hangout with my friends!


Why did we make the book?

Hi this is Katie, one of the authors of Hazel's Rainbow. This website and the book are both part of my Girl Scout Gold Award project, the highest achievement in Girl Scouts. I've been a part of Girl Scouts since Kindergarten, so completing my Gold Award was a big goal I have always wanted to accomplish. The main goal of my project is to help young kids understand their emotions and find safe ways to cope with them. I knew creating a childrens book focused around this would be a great way to do so. I asked a couple of my friends to help me write and design Hazel's Rainbow, and it couldn't have turned out better!
